Every big “yes” is built on a dozen little ones. In this episode, we unpack micro-yeses — those tiny moments of agreement that make customers relax, lean in, and feel like the decision was theirs all along. Less arm-wrestling at the desk, more “yeah, sure” moments from greet to delivery.
What you’ll learn
How to engineer micro-yes momentum through the dealership flow: meet and greet, walkaround, test drive, write-up.
Why positive micro-moments boost mood and trust (hello, halo effect) and make the rest of the process easier.
The difference between real micro-yeses and polite head-bobs that vanish at pencil time.
Practical scripts you can steal today, from coffee to feature demos to “show me the payment” value framing.
The MICRO framework you can run on every deal to keep things natural and customer-led.
Quick story from the floor
A customer came in to “just look.” Guard up, arms crossed. No big yes in sight. But she said yes to a coffee, yes to sitting in the car, yes to trying heated seats in July. By the time we reviewed numbers, her head was already nodding. That’s what stacking small wins feels like.
The MICRO framework
M — Make the first yes easy. Offer water or “good coffee or dealership coffee.”
I — Integrate naturally. Keep the asks low-risk and relevant: “Mind if I pull this into the shade?”
C — Confirm positively. Reinforce the yes: “Perfect, you’ll like this.”
R — Read the intent. Is that a genuine lean-in or Midwest nice? Adjust accordingly.
O — Own the big yes moment. When momentum is real, closing feels like the next logical step.
Scripts you can use right now
Warm-up: “Do you want the good coffee or the dealership coffee?”
Feature: “Want to see something this model does that most people miss?”
Value: “Would it help if I showed you what your monthly would look like with that package?”
Pitfalls to dodge
Fake yeses (“You like breathing, right?”) kill authenticity.
Forcing agreement raises resistance.
Skipping trust steps and piling tiny asks can backfire. Read the room, not just the nods.
